COOKIE TIME TO ADOPT DDUB.

7 April 2009

New Zealand's favourite cookie company, Cookie Time, are adopting popular New Zealand Roots/Rock
band, dDub, on the eve of New Zealand Music Month.

Cookie Time’s marketing prowess is being harnessed to take the band to the next level.

After steadily touring New Zealand and Australia for the past 5 years, dDub have done the hard yards
and built a solid groundswell of support. It's time for the rest of New Zealand to hear their music, and
Cookie Time will be unveiling a range of initiatives including free downloads, shows, and retail activity
in the coming weeks.

dDub came to Cookie Time’s attention a couple of years ago, when founder Michael Mayell purchased
their CD at a Wanaka record store – he fell in love with the music, and after seeing them live 10 times,
he decided he had to help them get their music out.
dDub’s lead singer Derek Browne, said he was rapt to be Cookie Time’s adoptee, ‘it’s a constant
challenge to make a living as a musician in New Zealand, and in the post CD age, bands need to find
extraordinary ways to market their music'.

Steve Newall, NZ Music Month Manager, was thrilled to see Cookie Time’s initiative, and he said this
puts out a clear challenge to other New Zealand companies to adopt New Zealand bands.

‘It’s great to see a relationship between two local success stories come to fruition.

‘Artistic and commercial success can both be achieved through innovative ideas, and this is exactly
what I expect to see happen with dDub and Cookie Time.

With any luck the adoption will pave the way
for other New Zealand companies to consider doing something similar with one of our other great
local artists’.

Further details on the adoption and plans will be forthcoming shortly.
