Taking it to the Streets for Child Cancer
Avalanche City To Busk In Times Square, New York For The Big Busk 2011
Jason Kerrison Joins The Big Busk
Due to huge international interest Avalanche City are unable to
return to New Zealand in time for The Big Busk, and rather than
cancel they have chosen to relocate their Big Busk to the streets of
Times Square, New York!
Choosing to support the cause remotely, Dave Baxter will be filmed
performing in NYC and fans will be able to support Dave’s challenge
via www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/AvalancheCity/ or text BEAD to 206
Included in his set is the #1 hit single “Love, Love, Love,” which
after 14 weeks is still sitting comfortably at #2 on the NZ airplay
chart. His new single ‘Ends In The Ocean’ has just gone to New
Zealand radio. Check out the clip at http://www.avalanchecity.com/

Not only that, we are very proud to announce that Jason Kerrison has
confirmed his support for The Big Busk and will perform in Auckland
on the 20th May joining the already great line up.
Jason states, “I’m really looking forward to getting out on the
streets to busk for such a great cause”. He’ll be featuring some
tracks from his new electronica/hip-hop/groove oriented project,
“The babysitters circus” due to release their EP at the end of NZ
music month.
The Big Busk will take place on Friday 20th of May, when established
musicians and exciting up and comers will perform at prime sites
throughout New Zealand, as part of New Zealand Music Month.
Other confirmed performers include Greg Johnson, Barnaby Weir, Luger
Boa, Black River Drive, Iva Lamkum, Lydia Cole, Jonny Love, Lisa
Crawley, Massad and the Twitch.
A number of keen students and other New Zealanders have also signed
up to support the Big Busk and we are keen to see more.
Busking events will also take place throughout the entire New Zealand
Music Month. Everyone who participates in the $500 Bucket Challenge
will go into the draw to win a $500 music package, including music
vouchers and an 8GB iPod nano.
The school that raises the most money will get a song writing
session with one of New Zealand’s top songwriters and performers.
100% of funds raised will go directly to supporting children and
their families on their child cancer journey.
Three children are diagnosed with cancer each week in New Zealand
and collectively undergo a total of 75,000 treatments and procedures
annually.
