New Zealand Music Month, May 2010

New Zealand Music Month and Auckland University of Technology Collaborate

9 April 2010

Every Semester Auckland University of Technology’s Diploma and BA in Event Management offers a course in Event Production coordinated by lecturer Alison Booth.
The students are giving the challenge to create an event plan and then design and produce a live event with no budget for a local community organisation. This semester the students are planning to produce their own NZ Music Month events as well as volunteering at official New Zealand Music Month functions in Auckland and Wellington. Steve Newall, NZMM Manager, is engaged with the 60 enrolled students introducing the NZMM mission and event specifications, coordinating volunteer positions at NZMM month events and signing off their creative event concepts.  Three AUT student New Zealand Music Month events are currently being planned for the third week of May including a DJ night in Auckland City, an unplugged acoustic evening in Takapuna and a quiz pub night at AUT.
