Your chance to hear new works premiered and be there while they are recorded by the NZSO!
SOUNZ, the Centre for New Zealand Music, is pleased to announce the 18th session of NZSO-SOUNZ Readings.
On this occasion ex-pat conductor Tecwyn Evans will lead the NZSO in a rehearsal and recording of works by Leonie Holmes, John Elmsly, John Rimmer, Patrick Shepherd and a triple concerto by Michael Williams with the New Zealand Chamber Soloists: Katherine Austin, Lara Hall and James Tennant.
Through this project, SOUNZ aims to highlight the available range of orchestral music by New Zealand composers to encourage further programming of these works for performance, recording and broadcast. We hope that you will be able to take the opportunity to hear these works and to add to your knowledge of the extensive available repertoire of New Zealand music for orchestra.
The NZSO-SOUNZ Readings are a project of Centre for New Zealand Music, in partnership with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra with the support of Radio New Zealand Concert.
