Radio with Pictures on the Big Screen

Radio with Pictures on the Big Screen

Ngā Taonga, the NZ Film & Sound Archive, is bringing the classic music television show Radio With Pictures to the big screen this NZ Music Month.

Newly digitized copies of original Radio With Pictures episode will be screening four days a week, with double episodes on Saturday afternoon.

For many Radio with Pictures is the ground-breaking television show that not only enlivened Sunday night but also opened up access to a world of music not given air time on popular radio. From the mid-70s a generation stayed up late for RWP followed by the Sunday Night Horror!

Throughout NZ Music Month Ngā Taonga will celebrate with nine Radio with Pictures episodes that will screen at 5.30pm, Wednesday to Friday and on Saturday afternoons in double-bill ‘featurettes’.
