"…the love-child of an unholy coupling between Cyndi Lauper and the Pet Shop Boys.”
CD of the week, Grant Smithies, Sunday Star Times
"Curious, fantastical songs. like falling through clouds."
Nick Bollinger, Radio New Zealand
Ethereal pop princess Sophie Burbery and her sylvan alter-ego, Little Bark, will both be playing sets on their May 2011 tour, with support from a full band. The tour spans both the North and South Islands, with seven dates over two weeks. They will be performing songs from the debut album ‘Hope is Rubbery', including the latest single from Little Bark ‘In the Forest'.
Little Bark is Sophie's superhero alter-ego. She gained her powers from a terrible accident with an exploding mirror ball. With the aid of magical forest creatures, in a radioactive wilderness, she learned to harness them. If you want to party then this strange sylvan creature is your friend. New Zealand Musician described Little Bark as "deliciously poppy and sugary sweet, catchy hooks are in abundance, making the beats of these tracks instantly infectious."
The second persona is Sophie Burbery, the Lois Lane to Little Bark. Sophie Burbery's songs were described by Nick Bollinger as "vaporous and ethereal, taking you on a journey through rootlessness and transformation." The Sophie Burbery side shows a more reflective and personal approach to songwriting. The result is a dreamy, expressive set of songs.
The tour dates are:

Friday, May 13 - Wunderbar, Lyttelton - with Delaney Davidson
Saturday, May 14 - Chicks Hotel, Dunedin - with Robert Scott
