The Narcs Share Digital Release of 1983 No Turning Back EP

Chart favourites, The Narcs have presented a New Zealand Music Month gift: a digital remaster and rerelease of their 1983 EP: No Turning Back.

The No Turning Back EP was originally released on vinyl in April 1983. It was engineered and mixed by Reid Snell at Auckland’s Harlequinn Studios. The EP spent 9 weeks in the NZ Top 40 Singles chart, peaking at #12. A 6-week No Turning Back national tour followed and included a live television performance on Shazam, and North Island dates with Australia’s Cold Chisel.

The Narcs of 1983 were 3-piece with Andrew Dickson on guitar and vocals, Steve Clarkson drums and Tony Waine bass. The band was nominated twice for Group the Year at the NZ Music Awards in 1982 & 1983 alongside The Herbs and DD Smash.

In early 2024 the EP was transferred from vinyl by Andre Upston, and mastered at Bronzewing Studios by Mike Bloemendal. The Narcs’ No Turning Back EP will be up on all digital platforms on 17th May 2024.

The EP tracks are: ‘The Beach’, ‘No Turning Back’, ‘Stay Away’, ‘I Bet You Know (how it feels)’.
