Today’s Video of the Day is an AI assisted offering from Pōneke-based multi-instrumentalist Grayson Gilmour. His infectious sound draws from an amalgamation of musical influences, opening up international collaborations like today’s focus ‘Day Moon’ with Oakland-based neo-soul artist Sandu Ndu.

Grayson Gilmour first found success as a part of the Indie band So So Modern in the early 2000s. Since then, Grayson has launched a successful solo career, releasing his fifth studio album Holding Patterns last year. The album featured the stunning track ‘Day Moon’ as the lead single and later forged a Remixes album with Yvois, Felix Holton, Julien Dyne and Motte.

Grayson is an artist that truly embraces this week’s theme of “amplifying innovation”. The video for ‘Day Moon’ directed by Jesse Taylor Smith and Jacob Perkins utilises innovative technology to create the dream-scape visuals. The video uses a combination of animation by Jacob, motion capture by Thomas Williams and AI prompting of “a galactic coral reef” by Jesse to create the vibrant coloured and multi-textured world of ‘Day Moon’.
