Week 4
After playing in the scene around Te Whanganui-a-Tara for the past five years, I was inspired to create music that is centred around community and the joy of art. The gig is a bit of a debut of my (Elisa) originals, and am super stoked that it has lined up with NZ Music Month! Lots of love for the kaupapa, and here’s the official gig description :
Mā te huruhuru ka rare te manu
New Pōneke project MANU debuts with ‘Moments as a permanent condition’, live at Rogue & Vagabond on May 21st. Led by Elisa Bird, the project is inspired by all musics, from the founding spiritual sounds of Pharaoh Sanders and Alice Coltrane, to modern alternative voices like Saya Gray and Nala Sinephro.
All koha proceeds will go to DCM (Downtown Community Ministry), in light of recent move on orders.
