Week 4
Pahiatua celebrates NZ May Music Month with live music in the heart of town.
Pahiatua will come alive with the sounds of music this May as NZ May
Music Month ’26 arrives at the War Memorial on Main Street on Saturday
23rd May 2026.
Organised by Music Festivals and Events NZ and proudly supported by
Grassroots Trust Central, this free, family-friendly event will
showcase a fantastic lineup of local and regional artists in a relaxed
outdoor setting.
This marks the first time Music Festivals and Events NZ has brought
its live music series to Pahiatua, as part of a wider programme of
community events held across the region. With events running
throughout Summer, New Zealand Music Month, and Spring, the
organisation continues to deliver free live music experiences from the
Manawatū through to Lower Hutt.
Running from 11:00am through to 3:00pm, the event features an exciting
lineup of artists, including:
11:00am – Chrissy Kerr
12:00pm – Sliced Bread
1:00pm – Unity Wara
2:00pm – The Getaway
The event will also feature DJ FBIKS, keeping the atmosphere going
throughout the day.
Families are well catered for, with a free children’s bouncy castle,
making it a great day out for all ages.
Event organisers say the goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive
space where communities can come together to enjoy live New Zealand
music.
“Bringing this event to Pahiatua for the first time is really
exciting. It’s all about creating a relaxed, family-friendly
atmosphere where people can enjoy great music and connect with their
community.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket or chair and settle
in for an enjoyable afternoon of live entertainment.
In the event of wet weather, the event will move to Club Hotel Pahiatua.
