Musical Punch Over Lunch - The Guiding Tones

Each Thursday, local performers take over this one-of-a-kind venue for a burst of live music. Set inside the 160-year-old architectural gem that is Old St Paul’s (managed and operated by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga), this is a peaceful, welcoming place to pause and enjoy something special.

For the second week of Musical Punch in May, Old St Paul's presents The Guiding Tones an all acoustic jazz trio based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Consisting of Vadim Fong on clarinet, Zylah Vivace on guitar, and Joseph Coleman on piano accordion, they bring unique instrumentation and a fresh voice to classic swing repertoire. The group plays a range of material, focusing mainly on swing music such as Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington, but also branching into jazz manouche and even bebop.
