Week 4
The May Songwriters' Showcase at Moon will feature Cordelias, Marmalady and Louis Gradwell.
Louis Gradwell - "I got into this whole music biz writing songs, and its always where i return to. i've taken a little break from live performance to practice the craft, and i think the songs that've come out of it have taken on the introspection that reflects my situation. they've got a personal, vulnerable quality to them, and i look forward to sharing"
Marmalady ....makes the kind of music you didn't know you needed - folk at heart, jazz-tinged, and indie-flavoured. Built around finger-picked acoustic guitar and a warm, sweet voice, her laid-back sets will have you swaying along, then quietly reflective, then chuckling before you know it. She weaves tone poems that speak the depths of her heart and the weird and wonderful parts of her mind. Bring your feelings. She's got songs for all of them.
Cordelias .... an indie-folk trio, with a hint of feminine rage! Thematically, they explore queerness in the light of societal norms, heartache, identity, and the patriarchy. Cordelia's play a variety of instruments to create a laid-back and enticing acoustic sound. Cordelia’s what, you may ask? Watch and find out!
The show will kick off about 7pm, following the conclusion of Moon’s the Songwriters’ open mic (which will run from 4:5pm.).
Tickets $15 from Eventfinda or at the door, but with a special price of $10 for folk who have played at the open mic.
