Keep It Local. NZ Music Month on Music For The People

Music for The People first went live during New Zealand Music Month 2019.

Backed by some of the biggest names in Aotearoa’s Electronic / Club & Urban music scenes. New Zealand’s New Music Channel quickly amassed a loyal and ever growing audience keen to hear their favourite artists cut their teeth in radio, and discover new music from home and Abroad.

On any given day, platform users can hear anything from their favourite Kiwi electronic music icons throwing down mixes of cutting edge electronica, or the nation’s leading hip hop and club DJ / Producers sitting around a table in Otara community hall hosting one of the funniest yet upfront Urban Music shows on the New Zealand Airwaves.

A lot has changed in the New Zealand Music Landscape in recent months with COVID-19 decimating Kiwi artists livelihoods literally overnight. Because of this, we’re digging in and supporting as many NZ artists as possible by KEEPING IT LOCAL. All Kiwi, All Month.

With the help of some well-known Kiwi Artists, we’re curating all new playlists for NZ Music Month featuring 100% NZ Alternative Electronic, Urban and indie music, plus the Kiwi classics we know and love – Streaming 24/7.

Our local musicians and creatives have found new and innovative ways to keep performing, keep in touch with their fan bases, and create new audiences, so we’ve rallied a posse of some of the biggest and most recognizable names in Aotearoa music, to put together their own shows, featuring their top tier selections of iconic Kiwi Anthems. By the Artists. For the People.

The KEEP IT LOCAL series airs weekdays from 11AM on www.musicforthepeople.co.nz - Full artist line up announced 9AM Monday May 4th on Mornings with DYLAN C – Artist curated shows repeat throughout NZ Music Month and will be available to stream via the website.

Supporting NZ Music for exactly 1 year and Celebrating 1 year of Kiwi artists showcasing the very finest Music, for The People.
