Longtime favorites amongst finalists for the 2019 Children’s Music Awards

The finalists at this year’s Children’s Music Awards include legendary acts like TV talent Suzy Cato and Wonky Donkey author Craig Smith. Anna van Riel’s name might not be so familiar, but she has been making music for kids for almost a decade and was previously nominated for Best Children’s Song and Best Children’s album in 2016.

Others are new to children’s music but nonetheless have a long track record behind them - for example, violinist Marian Burns who has been playing violin for 40 years and has performed alongside the Topp Twins, Dr John, and Ricky Skaggs, with appearances at big events such as WOMAD (NZ) and Australia’s country festival Tamworth (AUS).
