WELCOME TO TE MARAMA PUORO O AOTEAROA

NZ Music Month | Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa kicks off today, Sunday 1 May.

There are loads of exciting events, activities, and special features coming over the next 31 days celebrating all the amazing music from Aotearoa and the people who make it.

To stay up to date with everything going on, you can subscribe to the weekly newsletters here at www.nzmusicmonth.co.nz – scroll to the bottom of the homepage for the sign up box.

We’d love to hear about any NZ music gigs and releases this May you have too! You can email details to , or get in touch via our social channels – on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter.

If you’d like to print your very own NZ Music Month poster for 2022, you can download the PDF’s of the A2 size artwork here:

Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa with a black background (16MB)

NZ Music Month with a purple background (16MB)

And if you grab a copy of the special edition of Time Out magazine in the NZ Herald tomorrow, there is a full page version in there too.

The Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa | NZ Music Month Merchandise Store is live, being hosted by our friends at August Avenue – you can buy the official t-shirt in three different colour ways – purple with a white print, black with a purple print, and black with a white print. You’ll also find a special limited edition tee for the re-launch of the landmark NZ music television series Give It A Whirl. Designed by Lily Paris West from the band Mermaidens, its reminiscent of a classic festival tee with all the artists featured in the show listed on the back. You can watch the entire series of Give It A Whirl, bought to you by NZ On Screen and AudioCulture here.

This year there is a NZMM tote bag available too – and proceeds from all the merch sales this year will be donated to the charity MusicHelps.

This year’s theme for NZ Music Month is ‘Level Up’ – it is about bringing into focus tomorrow’s stars, showcasing up-and-coming talent and success stories, and celebrating what emerging success means for the New Zealand artists. We look forward to sharing the stories of music from all over Aotearoa in the coming month!
