While not a debut release for Wellington based hip-hop trio BROKE HAVEN, their latest track DREAD represents a significant step up in production and a jaw-dropping showcase for a newcomer to the scene and a novel label in WEDEM Records.

Consisting of a blend of North Island talent in Taupo native BPUK, the East Coast’s own ESBE and Tauranga born KALI. BROKE HAVEN are students of the craft. Collaborating and shining both individually and collectively across an already extensive catalogue of original beats and intelligent lyrics, BROKE HAVEN seamlessly blend their signature styles to create a genre-shaking sound.

The Dread EP is the trios first major foray into the audiovisual realm. Having teamed up with local director Theo Vila , they have made a breakout statement that seeks to make an impact and promises that the future of hip-hop in New Zealand has a chapter unwritten in Pōneke, Aotearoa.
