The Big Kisses Release Their Brand New Single ‘Phone Tag’

The Big Kisses are an independent two-piece band based in Madrid. One part Kiwi, one part Carolinian, they create a dreamy, alluring, and catchy bedroom pop sound.

The band debuted with their self-titled album in March 2025 — a collection that explores the tensions within different relationships and the search for peace in the moment. One track, 'Greenstone Heart', reaches across oceans to Aotearoa, the homeland of vocalist Maeve. The title was inspired by a piece of pounamu gifted to her as a child, though the phrase takes on a different meaning internationally. The song also draws from the tale of how Ireland was first lost to the Normans, with a chorus that serves as an ode to love — the ultimate unifier.

Their lyrics intertwine poetic references from the Western canon with dreamlike fragments from everyday life, all wrapped in a distinctly modern sound.

Their latest single, 'Phone Tag', is a playful yet poignant take on contemporary telephone culture.
