Sam Heselwood's New Single 'We Own This City'

'We Own This City' is a song written about living in London and feeling completely disconnected.

It's about the pressure to pretend you're loving it there—chasing status, image, success—when deep down it’s exhausting and lonely. It felt like everyone was using copious amounts of cocaine as a way to escape the grey, to mute the chaos and push all the pain to the side, even just for a night. The song captures that blur between wanting more from life and doing whatever it takes to feel something. It's raw, it's dark, but there’s also this defiant energy in it—like even in the mess, for one night, we can still feel alive. We can still own the city.
