For an album titled im just a producer - this body of work is anything but modest. Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland producer Edward Liu (EDYONTHEBEAT) today announces his sophomore album - eleven tracks, twelve collaborators and featured artists.

The campaign opens with first single ‘Hello (Last Name)’ with Talia Perese, out Friday 22 May, with a further nine singles rolling out across the campaign window through to the album's 12 March 2027 release via New Zealand Distributor DRM.

im just a producer is the second album from EDYONTHEBEAT. Eleven tracks, each pairing Edy’s production with a different artist & collaborator. Features include Dinah Jane (ex-Fifth Harmony), Janine, Jaedyn Randell, Myshaan, Devin Velez, RISSA, HALES, JUGA, Verity, Donson PK, ELENA and Talia Perese. Edy has spent years building international collaborations from Aotearoa without the cover of a label or a frontman - 170M+ streams, close to 500 credits, a 2025 Pacific Music Award for Best Producer, and viral TikTok livestreams that have pulled co-signs from the likes of Timbaland and Charlie Puth. im just a producer now puts the producer’s name at the top for the first time.

Ten singles roll out across the campaign window from NZ Music Month May 2026 through to the album drop in March 2027.

‘Hello (Last Name)’ is a romantic, wedding-day record. Built around angelic guitars and wide-open space for the vocal to land, it sits sonically in the same pocket as Ariana Grande - restrained, polished, and unhurried. The song was written for the day itself: a couple, their people, and a moment they'll keep.

For Talia Perese, 20, the single is a milestone in a fast-rising career, and one that began in the comments section of an EDYONTHEBEAT livestream.

“I was just a big fan of watching his videos, because of how talented Edy and all of his singers were, and I really aspired to become one of them. So during one of his live review nights I put in one of my originals I’d recorded on voice memos, and surprisingly he liked it and asked if I wanted to come in to do a session. The South Auckland artist’s debut single ‘Echo’ - produced by Edy and Grammy-winner ASTRO - has surpassed 1M Spotify streams and 5M+ views across socials.
