Raiza Biza Releases New Single ‘Diaspora’ Feat. Achai and Announces Tenth Album, Pangea

Raiza Biza presents ‘Diaspora’ featuring Achai, the fourth single from his forthcoming new album Pangea, due for release through Low Key Source.

After seeing out 2025 with a celebrated performance at Israel Adesanya’s groundbreaking in Auckland, as well as two new singles, ‘Chapati’ featuring Jdro, and ‘Mocha’ featuring Jess B & Rubi Du, Raiza Biza locks in with one of his most personal transmissions yet, ‘Diaspora’.

Set against a moody, ambient backdrop produced by his close collaborator TK Paradza, Raiza Biza spends the first half of ‘Diaspora’ rhyming in unhurried, poetic prose about the realities of spending half his life as a child of the diaspora. In his words, “Intergenerational trauma, intergenerational horror, intergenerational problems that we sorted with international concerts. Africa to the world and beyond. We are no longer a World Vision advert. We dance. We make the songs.”

Stage set, the Sudanese singer Achai bursts into song, repeating a powerful refrain, “Boy, I know you’ve been fighting, fighting, fighting,” as expansive guitars wail behind her healing voice. Together, all the elements of ‘Diaspora’ coalesce into a showstopping musical moment. In the accompanying video, Achai sings facing the camera from an ocean vista, while Raiza Biza reflects on good and bad times spent with lovers and friends.

Fittingly, ‘Diaspora’ is the introductory track on Pangea, an epic work which sees Raiza Biza and TK Paradza working with Achai, Jdro, Jess B, Rubi Du, Mazbou Q, Romeo Rapstar, and Blaze The Emperor. Over ten projects in, Pangea is the album Raiza Biza has been building towards his whole career. Over eleven energetic and introspective songs, he takes us ever deeper into the story of a singular artist who has spent decades crossing borders and walking between worlds.

‘Diaspora’ is out on all streaming platforms! Listen here.

Raiza Biza writes with a unifying voice, honed over a lifetime spent crossing borders and connecting with communities across South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Europe and his home country, Rwanda. A veteran hip-hop artist and musician, he spent the 2010s touring the world, recording six solo projects, and sharing stages and studio sessions with Oddisee, Black Milk, Sampha The Great, Jess B, Melodownz, Teeks, and REMI.

Since the dawn of the 2020s, Raiza Biza has been quietly reacclimating himself with the rich musical traditions of the African continent. Recently, he has been deepening this connection in the hills of Rwanda, where he has been slowly blending his formalist hip-hop and soul sensibilities with the rhythms and melodies of afrobeats. With a new album on the horizon, he’s ready to serve up a slow-cooked stew of sounds, stories and perspectives that could only come from his brilliant mind.
